OvrHd light problems

I have an 86 Corolla, 4 dr, sdn. I am having problems with the Overhead Light, it doesn't come on when the doors are opened. Yet when you jiggle the switch it will turn on.
1. Yes the switch is in the proper position. It won't even come on in the on position, without some jiggling of the switch
2. It is a new bulb
3. Do I need to clean contacts on the switch, HELP

First check your contacts and see if youhave any corrosion on them If you do then clean them with a fingernail file(cardboard) snd see if that does it. I had to recently do mine the same way

Hi.Have had the same problem with my Corolla,97.Have been repairing it off and on for a few years.I think I will just go to a bone yard and get another one to replace it.Also,check all of your door switches to see if they are working properly.Have a good day!!.Diesel 1962
