My car was running fine 2 days ago, then my head lights went out.. so i tested the electrical, and i was not getting anything in my hot wire.. so i ran a new line from my hot to my switch in the car.. it started working fine.. the next day, i was heading home and it started smoking, so i shut the car off, and it started putting like it was still running. i switched it on then off real quick and it went off.. i went to start it back up and i lost all power.. like my battery was dead... battery was good, i tested it.. my power windows work, and my turn signals and break lights, but nothing else. no headlights, no dash lights, dome lights.. when i try to crank it, it turns and turns. but wont start.. My accesories fuse blew, so i went to put another in and it sparked and blew..

Can you give us the amp rating on the fuse that keeps blowing? And the cavity number for the fuse, if there is one? My information doesn't say,( accessory fuse) it just lists the amp rating and cavity number.

If the vehicle cranks good but won't start, you can do some basic tests. Have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. You can just pull off a plug boot, stick a known good plug in the boot, lay metal part of plug against engine ground, metal part of engine. Have helper crank it, watch for spark at the tip of plug.

I guess if the CEL won't come on, you can't check for codes?

That smoking you talked about, sounds like something fried. I'm not sure what that is???

It's a 10 amp fuse. I will try that test you mentioned, but my Dad went out this AM and it started for about 2 seconds then died and won't restart again.
