Airbrush cleaning

I saw a post here in the last few weeks, and cant find it now.
Someone suggested using something for cleaning an airbrush that is good for cleaning out old paint that has built up.
My Paasche VL has build up inside the body where the trigger is at, due most likely to the bushing that seals the needle being loose.
But now there's enough buildup in it, that I cant seem to get it cleaned out. Ive soaked the brush, after disassembling it, in lacquer thinner for a couple of weeks and it didnt really do anything to clean it up much.
Just thought someone might have seen that thread, or knew what was suggested, so that I might be able to give it a try.

Wow! That must be some build-up if lacquer thinner doesn't affect it. What sort of paint have you been using in the brush?

Up until very recently (say, last 2 months or so) it has been strictly enamels, but a lot of it has been on it for several years. I think bought the airbrush in '98 or '99, and then for about 5 or years or so, from around '01 to late '05, I did almost no modeling, so the airbrush sat for a very long time. I believe it was during that early period that most of hte paint built up in the airbrush. So its been there for a long time.

I bought some Premi-Air Liquid Reamer to clean my airbrush and it does the job brilliantly.I see you are not in the UK so I don't know if it will be possible to ship this product to you as it is in aerosol form. But I'm sure a local art store close to where you live will carry this or something very similar. You just spray it through the airbrush to clean it.It's really handy stuff.
