96 blazer relay/elect. issue

i think this is a relay or headlight problem as it seems to only happen when the headlights are on. what happens is that the relay on the very right in the glove box clicks when the headlights are on. sometimes it is worse than others, sometimes it doesnt happen at all. it usually doesnt happen when the high beams are on, but i dont drive the vehicle regularly, and she said she doesnt notice the clicking when the highbeams are on. also the whippers, blower for the heater, power windows and the blinkers cause the clicking to worsen. i initially thought it was the relay, so i replaced it, and it isnt as bad, but still continues. i have no idea where to start next, so any advice in where to look will be apprieciated. thanks

If power windows or blower motor make it act up or click more.

I would get a good wiring diagram of all power feeds and grounds.
And a good volt/amp meter.
And go over grounds and 12 volt power feeds real real good.
Also the DLR module controls the relay.
Check for good strong voltage to it and switchiing and grounds and from it.

If you are not good on electrical repair a good repair shop or dealer may be best.

Hi there, my blazer was doing the same thing however now the noise has quit and my daytime lights will not come on. Turning on the headlight switch only gives me tail lights. What next short of paying a ton of money to a mechanic with little knowledge of wiring and the local dealership telling me I dont know over & over. Thanks for all help

It is always best to start a New Thread/New post on your own problem.

If no headlights at all check The bulbs and fuses.
Then check for 12 volts from headlight switch threw dimmer switch on to head lights.

Also a good wiring diagream found in A factory repair manual or a all data online sub is a big help.

When going to a dealer ask for a factory trained tech.
If the dealership does not have one ask for your money back and find a good dealer that has one.
Or look around for a good repair shop.
Tips on finding a good repair shop.
Check around Ask around
Word of mouth.
Family friends coworkers neighbors business people and delivery people.
Mailmen and parcel delivery people get around and notice a lot of stuff.
Even a good parts house knows what shops are good and not good.
Chamber of commerce and better business bureau and city hall.
If you find a good referral to a repair shop go look them over and talk to them.
Look for a clean looking busy place with nice people running it.
Ask a few questions and ask about their qualifications and training.
Not all places have trained tech/mechanics.
If they do not find a place that does.
Even all dealers do not have all trained techs/mechanics.
