ok,i read 'em all ...

but I didnt see any thread where anyone is changing out the waterpump.I have a 95 villager,200000klms,and it overheated and then blew cold air.I changed out the thermostat,but have not bled the system yet.I realize this must be done ,but I want to know if there is a way to tell if the waterpump is working properly.Also,if the pump is toast,can you give me a rundown on what im gonna need to do the job.thanking you in advance,Patrick...PS:my Dad was driving it when it overheated,and he said it happened very quickly,(kinda like the thermostat was blocked shut ,thats why I changed it first.

With the radiator cap off and engine warm so thermostat is open you should be able to see coolant circulating.

To change water pump the timing belt cover needs to come off. When you change water pump you may as well change timing belt at same time.

I'm about to start changing the timing belt and water pump on my 99 villager. Any tips you can provide would be appreciated.

If you do not have a air wrench to remove crankshaft pulley use a breaker bar with I think a 22mm socket for the crankshaft bolt, tie it so it cannot move and tap the starter to loosen bolt.
Also before taking timing belt off put number 1 cylinder to TOP DEAD CENTER so everything is in time when you put new belt on.
