Hello. thanx for readin...any suggestions might help.
I have a 1997 chevy silverado 1500 with a 350 5.7L engine. it started bogging when hitting the gas but now it wont start at all... we replaced the pump and it started once and now wont turn on at all. we put in a new pump and filter and cleaned out the fuel lines... nothin, we have spark and fuel pressure at the service port.... there is no fuel actually getting into the cylinders. me and my father replaced all the sensors under the hood including the PCM..... still no dice... we can put starter fluid in it and it will run till the fluid is burnt off..... Since it is SFi central injector system could it be the injectors till i woundered why all the injectors would just go at once... and all the connections are ok cause if they were short circuiting fuses would be blowing....:runaround: PLEASE>>>anything would help...Thanx

poor connections won't blow fuses. Check all the connections. Is the fuel pump running. It should run for 5 seconds when you turn the key on. Have somebody listen in the tank fill spout. If not Check the fuel pump relay, you can swap it out with another that is the same.

see if the injectors have voltage and grounds secured. how much fuel pressure ? or did you just see if it squirted fuel out.......use meter to check all fuses .........sounds electrical to me......

yes the fuel pump runs other wise i wouldnt have pressure.... and i checked it with a pressure gauge and it has enough to start a vortec engine.... and if it was a worn wire that was short circuitign wouldnt it blow a fuse???? and i checked all conections none are loose. they all have good seals and are NOT wet or have dirt in them.... checked all fuses and there all good... no problems under the hood or in the cab...

The ECM 1 fuse supplies power to the injectors in the run & start position. Make sure you have power thru that fuse to the injectors in both positions.

You say that it has enough fuel pressure to start a Vortec, but you didn't say what that pressure is. Needs 60-65 lbs.

the pressure is approx 60 ta 61 and i checked the ECM1 and there is power to it in both positions

Pull the fuel pump relay. Match relay pins 87 & 30 and jumper those in the relay receptacle. This will cause the pump to run all the time as #30 is powered by the ECM B fuse and 87 powers the pump. This is just a suggestion for trouble shooting purposes only. It is not meant to be a long term fix.

Also check the ground wires mentioned earlier for good grounds (C3 17 & 18).

If none of this helps do as "j caT" & I both suggested and check voltage at the injectors. The ground for the injectors goes thru the VCM injector drivers.

no! the pressure /flow of gas is, when pump is running is always returning the unused gas back to the tank thru the fuel return line. the reason the fuel pump shuts down after 2 sec. if engine is not running is if, lets say you drive into an oak tree and all that gas continues to squirt out because your key is still in the run mode.....a safety issue!

A lot better than Ford's inertia switch :)

Had a customer throw a box into the trunk... after that it wouldn't start
