Rough Idle, ETC

Ive noticed lately that my cavs idle is somewhat rough. Is this expected from your common 4 cylinder Z24 or should i look deeper into it?

Also, i installed by air intake (AEM) a couple weeks ago and now that i have it istalled, i can hear a putting sound inside the filter. It almost sounds like somethings being thrown around inside, something small. When i crimp the hose leading into the aluminum, (the smaller tube) the noise stops. Any Ideas?
