my overhead console (the one that shows the temperature, fuel mileage, etc) shutdown (at first it would come on for a while; now it doesn't come on at all). Is there a bulb or fuse shot somewhere? What do I need to check?

I had the same problem appear a month ago. Did you figure it out? I now have the time to fix it.

It's working again right now for some unknown reason. Don't know exactly when it started working either.

I have a 99 Venture that had the same problem. After a while of banging it to make it work, it finally gave up. I pulled it out over the weekend and did a quick test of the connector and the board. I'm getting power to the connector and to certain points on the board. I think the problem is with the LED display, as while I had the board assembly out, I hit the display a few times and it came on for a split second. I think I'll either hit ebay or a junk yard when the snow melts!

There may be a cold solder joint in the circuit board. Look at all the soldered connections with a small magnifying glass and see that all are uniform in color. If one is really dull that may be the bad solder joint. Just hit it real quick with a low wattage soldering iron and let cool. That may be the problem.

I'd pop it open and look for cold solder joints also. Otherwise it looks like it needs to be replaced. :(
