Ok I just heard from some guy who was selling a 1g that there is a difference between auto and manual car turbo's?? is this true?

Yes. Automatic 1g's have some tiny ass turbo that is smaller than a t25, but I forget what it is exactly. Where as the Manual 1g's have the 14b stock.

Is it the TEO4H ?
"In 1988 Mopar went to a small, fast spooling turbocharger for their non-intercooled engines, boost was 7 to 9 pounds depending on the application. In 1989 the mitsu turbo received a larger exhaust outlet for better exhaust flow. My Mopar literature for 1989 states that the mitsu turbo used on the 2.5 had internal mods for more airflow, perhaps the larger exhaust housing is what they were referring to. No parts are interchangeable between the Garretts and the coolant & oil lines are different as well. The mounting flange bolt pattern is the same however (same exhaust manifold) and the exhaust donut is in the same location"
Compressor housing A/R - small
Exhaust housing A/R - smaller
Compressor inducer - 38 mm
Compressor exducer - 53 mm
Exhaust turbine diameter - 51 mm

Geez... WTF were they thinking when they chose the t25? :screwy:

\they added more psi but smaller turbo so the powerband was more evenly distributed but max hp was relatively the same. 2g weigh more but have a few design mods which help out bigger o2 and exhaust mani and a few other things like that that help it breath

Yup, they were trying to make a turbo'd car less like a turbo'd car.
Easiest way to tell between a 13g, a 14b, and a 16g is to look at fins and compressor housing numbers. 14b's will have evenly spaced compressor wheel fins and a TD05 compressor housing. 13b and 16g's will both have doubled up compressor fins, but the 13g has a TD04 compressor housing while the 16g has a TD05. I used to play a game, it was called go on ebay and search for 14b's, then laugh when over half of them werent even 14bs. I seriously thought about scoring a 16g once or twice when it was advertised as a 14b, but if someone was that big of a tool to not know the difference, they probably werent good on the turbo.
Also, where they fixed shit on the exhaust side of the motor, I am still perplexed as to why in hell they would go to such a dinky ass intake mani and intake runners. Sure its more efficient, but damn, talk about choking the motor at high rpms. I think its fine stock, but I dont think it takes much before those little runners start to inhibit shit.
