Anyone ever do this? Anyone know what software would work? I have datalogged and burned new chips for TBI cars but i would think this might be easier since you can change the ECM within the car. I have cables and other software, i was wondering if someone has ever done this, i would like to see what versions of firmware are actually installed in my truck and maybe make some changes, i just think if you can hook a hypertech up to these ECM's and have them make changes within 5 mins that you should be able to do the same with a laptop. Thanks! Any info would be greatly appreciated!

there was/is a program called LS1 edit that was great for tweaknig the LS1's. not sure if any such software is out there for newer stuff, but if it is, would be kick ass. could always go for a stand alone unit that you can tweak till your hearts content.

Lot of stuff and ways out there to do it.
But beware it is illegal and you can get jail time and a heavey fine doing it.
Read up on this stuff first and proceed at you own risk

I really wasnt looking for wild engine mods via the computer, i wanted to see what firmware was in my truck for the tranny and maybe revert back to the original. and also maybe change some little things, unengine related, in the computer, trust me i know all about the engine side of ECMs, i took a completely different engine and put in my camaro and used my laptop and chip burning software and hardware to completely make a new chip to really let my car run!

You would need EFI Live or HP tuners
