Can anyone tell me how to test the Camshaft Position Sensor on a 97 LHS with the 3.5 engine.

Why do you want to test the camshaft sensor? I do not know how to do this, but I can tell you this much from my experience. This sensor is located near the thermostat housing, and is very easy to replace. I replaced mine. It is about $35. The important thing is to make sure if you replace it that you leave the paper spacer on it. The paper spacer precisely places the sensor the correct distance from the pulley. It will shear off once the motor runs...

I am working on a LHS at school and the DTC is a Cam sensor malfunction, And from what i was told the sensor on there was put on there not to long ago. And i am tring to narrow stuff down. The car has no spark, and the injectors arent working right. I figured i would start witht the DTC. I was always told not to replace parts because i think they are bad.

I am having a similar problem. My '95 LHS will start up just fine, drive just fine, and then cut off. No spark, no fuel. I replaced the cam and crank sensors. Still the same thing. I thought it might be a fuel pump, but I took it to a mechanic and he said that the fuel pump was fine. He called a tech line and they could not figure it out. He told me that the after market sensors are unreliable, and that he had a customer that bought a crankshaft position sensor from a dealership (after trying a new aftermarket one) and all was well. My mechanic recommended that I first try a crankshaft position sensor from the dealership. If this doesn't work try replacing the PCM. Well, I hope I can get some good advice on this, because this car looks great and runs great, but after about 20 miles it cuts off and cannot get it to go again unless it sits for a couple of hours. Then it runs beautifully for another 20 miles or so. Hope we can collectively find a solution!...

This car doesnt start at all. When u connect a noid light to the injector it flashes when you turn the key on, but when you crank the motor over the light doesnt flash at all. We have fuel to the infectors and still no spark at all. The cam sensor has been changed recently but i dont know if its good. I dont have easy access to a spare senor with out paying the price for them. This car has me confused.

I have found the problem. It was the camshaft on the driver side. It locked up and tore the crap out of the belt.
