That is one awesome car, but I have to wonder how safe does an F1 driver feel, are they always looking over their shoulder? I mean he's driving a $1,000,000 car, here in the US we kill each other over a pair of Reebok sneakers. Now I'm wondering something else, is the McLaren F1 boulet proof? (I mean boulet proof as in shooting a boulet through the window.) And if it isn't with a price tag of $1 million, don't you think they should have installed boulet proof glass?

No I don't think the McLaren is bulletproof. That would add too much weight to the car.
If somebody did steal a McLaren F1 it would be pretty hard to hide it. There not something that you see everyday.......or ever in my case.:( :(

The car is built out of carbon fiber and kevlar, I just thought why not add a little more Kevlar, but you are right, there is no place to hide such a rare sports car, no point in stealing it. I saw one once at a concours of ellegance and I have never seen an F1 since.

And you know that owners of this car have high-security mansions that are all fenced in. Plus the security system on the car itself... And plus like you said, how would someone steal something like this without getting caught? If I had one, I would be more worried about someone scratching it...

Back to the original question about how safe they are. Everything I have read says that many people have survived high speed crashes.

You may say that cost too much, but you have to look at it from a very wealthy mans stand point. If you can even consider the McLaren as an option with the $1,300,000 they are going for now, it is mere pocket change for those individuals.
 You have just inherited $50 million........alarm clock goes off..........damn dreams, haha.

Well he does have a point saying they cost to much, but your coutner to that also poitns out that the buyers of these cars are obviously wealthy. It's all relative folks.

I try not to cry whenever I look at that site. But for some reason I just can't stop looking at those pictures - and usually for hours too.
