Check for lose of fuel pressure or spark to plugs.
Make sure there is plenty of gas in tank.
Can you hear fuel pump run or prime up?
Any remote start or antitheft stuff on it?
If a security light does it go out after key on bulb check?

I am having the same exact problem! Was just coming on here to post about it. Happened to me yesterday right when this huge snow storm hit here in SE WI. I tried cranking it so much and let the key out that it chugged and chugged, sounded like it was an exhaust leak by the headers, then blue smoke came out from under the hood so I popped it open and the smoke was coming from under the washer fluid jug and I could smell gas too. Any suggestions would be awesome.

You need a fuel pump pressure testing gauge and a spark tester.

Another post is the name of the game.
Two different cars or problems on one post gets confusing.

There is very few exact problems.
Always start a New Thread for your problem.
Good Luck

I had the same problem with a 96 blazer that wouldnt start and I figured out when it sat for a month mice set up camp in the muffler and pluged it shut with straw, insulation & dog food. when I cut the muffler off it fired right up and ran great

If the engine tries to fire when you let off the starter- then check to see if you have 12v to the coil during both "Run" and "Crank" modes- I've seen bad ignition switches (on a '95 Blazer) that don't have igntion power (pink wire under dash) during "start" mode-but it was there during "run" mode - a simple jumper of 12v to that wire and it starts right up- needed a new ignition switch
