4wd prob on 04 TB

When switching the control to either AWD or 4WD I get what to me appears to be a grinding sound. At times the AWD and 4WD will engage but then a noise appears and sounds like something loose coming from underneith and from the passenger side of the vehicle. Any clues?

My 02 LTZ trailblazer just started this grinding noise when trying to go in 4x4. I noticed that if I would turn the wheel sharp to right & left, that seems to help it go into 4Hi. I guess the hubs are freezing up and needs to be taken apart for cleaning and lube. have 201560 on the ticker. Its been a great vech, bought it new. was hoping someone could tell me how hard the hubs are to take apart?
