I have a 1999 Camry which I have owned since it was new. It has the dealer installed RS3000 VIP security system, complete with GRAY, football shaped, two button remotes with FCC ID BAB237131-022. The dealer provided us with three remotes for this vehicle, but indicated they could only program two remotes for it. (Two remotes have since been lost. :frown: )
My wife drove the vehicle home tonight and explained the red light on the remote has not been working properly the past few days. She further stated it glowed dimly the when she pressed the button at work to unlock the car doors. Once at home, she had to manually lock the doors as the remote would not function at all.
I replaced the battery in the remote with a CR2025 with the + side down. I attempted to unlock/lock the car with the remote. Neither worked.
I began searching Google and came across this website. I have found the programming sequence for the new remotes, but none indicate how to program the bottom button as a remote trunk release. The other remotes we have had provided this function.
Can anyone provide me with the correct procedures for programming a new remote to use the top button to lock/unlock the vehicle and the bottom button to pop the trunk?
Any help you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. :banghead:

Hi
I have the exact same problem with my 99 Camry. Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I'm thinking the trunk release is a separate receiver somewhere but no one can seem to confirm this.
Thanks!
