The back plugs on a 3.4 are no problem. This is what you need to do. And NO you dont have to roll motor forward. Need a 5/8 plug socket. Make sure the rubber plug holder is in the socket. Then use a 14 inch extention. If you follow the edge of the plug hole down by hand you can set the socket on the plug. after this put a short extention on top of the long one so you can put rachet on. Putting new plug in is done same way. Set plug in socket use 14 inch extention to put plug down hole. Remember use the rubber plug grabber in plug socket. If you drop plug down hole you are screwed. Took me 'bout 1/2 hour to change the three back plugs. I did take the molding off of the back side of motor compartment to get a better angle.

It is easy. If you have the right length of extensions.

Yes make sure you use a spark plug socket (with the rubber gomet inside.)

Also make sure you electrical tape your extensions and your extensions to the socket, if that comes unconnected, its sucks... trust me I know.
