Anyone know where the shift solenoids are located on a 98 Chevy Blazer, 4.3L V6 4wd? I need to change the 2/3 shift solenoid and not sure if I have to remove the pan or if it is mounted on the outside. I have contacted autozone and they say it is not in side the pan.

Autozone if fine as long as you don't ask them any questions. The transmission oil pan must be removed to access the shift solenoids.

did you get a po758 code? i just had this happen to my truck. shift solenoid B is the one you will probably have to replace, about $20 for another one. both shift solenoids are at the rear of the valve body so the pan needs to be dropped to replace it. you will also need supplies like 6 quarts of trans fluid, filter, and pan gasket. took me about 1hr 1/2 - 2hrs to replace the solenoid.
