stuck in park

My shifter is stuck in PARK. The arm to the linkage may just be frozen as we went from melting temps for a couple days, to -30 for the last 3 days. Will I damage anything if I try to force the shifter out of park? I have never had any trouble shifting before.

You have probably fix't the problem by now!
It is B.P.P. Break Position Sensor located on your brake pedal!
