Who is the fastest? Who would win in 0-60 & 1/4 mile?

The base Golf this thing is based on weighs 2900 pounds. The r32 has a 3.3 vs the 1.9 - thats worth a minimum of 100 more lbs and its gonna have a 4 wheel drive system - another couple hundred pounds. An off the head guess is that it will come in somewhere in the neighborhood of 3400 lbs.
At 240 hp and 3400 lbs you get = .0705 hp/lb.
So, theoretically the altima 3.5s and the maxs are faster. I looked at bout 10 sites for the right weight for the r32 - so just remember this is a guess only.

3256 pounds.
I don't know, or care, about 1/4 mile times. But it's faster than a WRX, and only slightly slower than a Focus RS around a track.

Thanks for the info deak.
so then 240/3256 = .0737 hp/lb.
Faster than all the maxs prior to 2002. Faster than the 2.5 altima (of course) and slower than the 3.5 altima.

Well, the R32 have 10 lb.ft less torque, but at lower rpm. (on paper anyway)
On the other hand, it's awd and have a six speed transmission.
The DSG transmission also have a 0.2 second shift time and features launch control.

Thanks Deak, I saw that thing on I think Motortrend, it was a beast and had some pretty good numbers going around the track. All I know is that the Max, WRX's, new Neon and EVO better not be sleeping when this thing pulls up next to a light.
I think it's even lighter than the original VW, plus AWD and a 6spd tranny. Look out VW's going burn some unsuspecting performance cars.

It's just about twice as heavy, have twice the power, twice the grip and twice the price of the original GTi :D

But a relatively fast "Fat Bastard" indeed.
