How do I get that vinyl look on my interior seating? Is there a paint that will duplicate vinyl?

SMS has a Velvet Faux Spray that maybe feels like the actual thing. Althoug it only comes in grey, im thinking you can paint over it.

Faux Fabrix is to replicate carpet or other fuzzy type surfaces, not vinyl.

If you paint your interior with flat paint, let it cure for a while. Go buy some mineral oil, put a tiny drop on a scrap piece of cloth, and rub most of it off on a paper towel. Then buff your interior with the mineral oiled cloth. You'll probably want to do some practice before doing it on your project.

Use clear flat or clear semigloss paint. If you paint a part w/flat paint, spray some clear semigloss paint over it. If you paint a part in gloss paint, spray flat clear over it. It's quite simple. You don't need any new colors. You can airbrush the clear (lacquer, acrylic) or spray can (Testors lacquer, enamel, Tamiya lacquer) depending on what your base color is. Most leather interiors are in a finish that's between flat and semigloss; more of a "satin" sheen. Adjust ratios accordingly. A semigloss black or other color may still be too shiny; so a bit of flat clear over it should be sufficient. I just finished a model that the interior color was mixed from semigloss and gloss acrylics; I airbrushed Testors Dullcote over the interior parts and I got a perfect satin finish.
