Maybe it just seems that way because everything is spread out now. I thought it had actually picked up.... look at how many multipage threads we've had lately compared to months past.

I noticed it was kinda dead also. The forum seems to have its weeks when its super busy and super slow.

I've definitely noticed.. It's not like I have a DSM to bitch about now, and it's not like I can really give past experience on DSM's when there aren't any questions asked.. I was going to post some videos and such, but I didn't want to be someone on the boards only contributing to videos. I'd like to make my time worthwhile here :)

I dont like the new setup, I don't come on nearly as much. It is hard to cilck into the different subforums especially if your internet is slower. I would like a huge board with like little identifiers next to each topic describing what it is generally about. That way you can see all the different threads at once...:2cents:

It would be nice not to have to click all the different subforms to see the topics. However that would be very unorganized.

Alot lately has been just cross talk. I think the thing is it's winter. It's always slower in the winter here. Not too many problems. We had a bunch of new people right before winter as usual, kids getting cars to drive as winter beaters or whatnot. But for the most part we keep our cars under wrap, so there's going to be less posts. Once the weather starts getting warmer, and right before the Southern meet, I'm sure there will be posts again.

Yeah I know, but lets face it. If this DSM forum was strictly about cars then it would definately be dead. For example the two other forums I'm on (Altima, & Expedition) are really boring. Thats why they don't get hits as ofetn, maybe once every week.

All in all I agree with all the previous posters. If anyone uses Ask. com, you can hover over a link or topic and it will preview the page in a bubble. And for the Wiki, I vote +1. It would be very useful and a lot more up to date.:2cents:

You know, the other thing is that these cars are just getting old and out dated. Many of our cars are 12, 14, or (like mine) 18 years old. Good ones are getting harder and harder to come by, not to mention people that actually have a clue what they are doing have enough money to mod a newer car... the only ones getting DSM's anymore are high school kids that dont know a socket wrench from their dick and are to retarded to know how to use either. They all seem to think its ok to throw on a loud ass and vented BOV, a boost controller cranked to 20 pounds, and a catback and run around dumping the clutch all day. You regulars know exactly what I am talking about, then they fuck up a good car or furtherly (if thats even a word) fuck up an already bad car. This cycle keeps going until it gets so messed up someone like me buys it and has to either part it or replace/fix EVERYTHING. I swear to god, there is not a single part of my car I havent been over already and I still have a solid month or so of work before I will truely trust it as a DD.

Someone made the comment in another thread about the Evo being 10x more reliable than a DSM and where that is true, its only true because there was 12 fucktards that owned the car before you that did a lot of dumb shit. My parents were really against me getting a DSM because their friend's kid had one and couldnt keep t-cases, axles, or rear ends in the thing. Perfect example right there, you dont break any of those unless you are hard as hell on shit.

This change needed to happen though, the amount of noobies posting where ever they wanted to was getting rediculous. I can see you guys' point on the extra subforums and it was really hard for Brian and I to level on it, but I truely think it was a good thing to do. Also, the extra 4 subforums did NOTHING to the speed of the site... remember there is like 2000+ of them and we are not on our own separate little area or whatever.

I think the other thing that kills us is the fact that there are so many other bigger car-specific sites. I am ok with that though, I like the sort of tight knit group we have here. I like how many of us know each other and I also like how we can have more than just cars to talk about. Sure a few more really knowledgable members would be nice, but I definately dont think I want a shit ton of regulars like tuners or talk has.

lol i dont really mind the switch as i said before, all the subforms make it a little harder to keep up with, but i still come one atlease once a day... the classifieds section is really dead, i've been looking for a switch that is in almost every car for almost a month now, with no real replies... guess things are going south for the winter... only thing is, i AM south... so everything should be good, not to mention that all the kids you guys are talking about, are in school again, like me, us KOWLAGE kids need to get your learn on also... ;) btw, i've never had an issue with my DSM other then with the Intercooler pipes... other then that, its running like a champ! ;)

I think this has a cleaner and less cluster f*cked feel to it so it's +1 in my book =) however it seems the traffic is down a tad but then again theres always the fact it's winter , just came out of a big holiday season , people are moving , cars are being wrecked , all sorts of things going on restricting people from using it. Given enough time and the foot traffic will be back up on par with the original.

It pisses me off when people buy an eclipse to use as a 'winter beater'..it just ruins the value of the car =(
If you want a winter beater buy a damn S-10 and stop trashing all the Eclipse damnit..so many have hit the junky yard and so many have been crushed it seems as if though it's getting harder and harder to find either A : A good quality eclipse not thrashed for purchase or B : A junk yard eclipse not trashed for parts.

Hell I've only put about 5K on my car and I am going on almost 2 years with it, i've only been driving it so much recently because the 04' is having some serious slipping in the tranny and decided not to go into 3rd or 4th anymore lol..got to love warranties though ! When summer rolls out full blast I will probably drive my eclipse daily. The with my windows down , radio up , hand on the 'knob' and just cruise for shits and giggles. Holy shit thats sweet... I've always thought they should offer different types of licenses to be available to people who can pass harder tests so they can go faster than the speed limit and such... That would be so wonderful. :)
