Horsepower?

Anyone have somewhat of an idea how much horsepower I'm producing with my mods? And yes I know, the only real way to tell is with a dyno, I just want to see an estimate. Back in October (completely STOCK, before I modded) I ran 14.689 @ 93.82 if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Stock horses is 240 on a stock GTP. Based on what you have for mods, I'd say your running 220hp..... Get it checked for KR before dragging it!!! Your motor is at risk.
The only real supporting mod I see for the 3.4 pulley is the u-bend delete and possibly the plugs. Might want to consider a colder t-stat along with a reflashed PCM.
Without adequate supporting mods your computer retards timing to compensate for knock. Thus reducing HP and could easily explode a piston.
But, we'll see what bnaylor says. He knows his stuff.

Hey whats up Tim. I really don't have much to say. :dunno:
Alot of it was discussed at the thread below and we would just be re-hashing everything. However, from what I see the overall potential of his mods is technically worthless without at least a Stage 1 re-programmed PCM module (DHP, Intense or ZZP) and real time monitoring of the different types of KR that could be there especially when running a smaller than stock SC pulley. Regardless of any hp gains the real test is another trip out to the dragstrip. :grinyes:

Come on guys....thats not all to true,, I had my mods done like that for awile before I had anything else done and after a 3.4 you can noticably tell the difference in power so if you would push 220 how could that be, hahah we are not all teenagers who cant tell what is going on. I understand the whole list of mods to go with it and I agree . but to say you lose power is non sense if you dont believe me I can show you some dyno slips of the stock pulley with those mods and a 3.4 after and there was alot of increase in power.I know both of you are gtp guys and I know bob knows his stuff because I used to come on awile back, and I know a decent amount about cars from this site as an 98eclipse guy so I am not stupid, fact is alot of these mods will still work, example an intake.now with my eclipse we would buy the injen or aem ones for $175.
Anyone who is not a drewling moron knows its just a pipe..same as ebay ones unless you get the bypass but look at the price difference $179-$14 hahah and worked just like the expensive ones. and for my gtp I made my own for maybe $20 and to see people spend $200 for one is crazy to me what do you get a 1 degree difference what does that refelect to in hp hahah not much difference for a $200 price increase. any how I am not starting an argument I am just giving my expierences with mods. thanks for letting me interject. ~joe

You sure that was not a typo error by TBlake? Wheel or engine HP?
We play it safe here and recommend only what is in the best interests of our GP forum members. KR is serious business and will destroy an engine. It is the silent killer. Speaking of which........ GTPSPEED - PCM module on the way? With that you will have more power and your ETs will improve significantly than running solely a 3.4 SC pulley without one. :grinyes: BTDT.

I was kinda thinking that same thing haha. Because I don't get how I can run the same time as a new stock GTP (when mine was stock too) but lose 20+ hp? Can someone explain that part to me? Oh and if it matters I just ordered the ZZP PCM tonight :) Can't wait to get it installed.

Thanks for sticking up for me buddy, but no, I meant 220 horses just to stress the point of having adequate supporting mods.
I think when I start modding my car, Im gonna buy all the supporting mods first (rocker arms, CAI, exhaust headers, PCM, U-bend delete, 180 stat) all before I buy the pulley.
I cant lose my motor over stupidity, and I'm sure no one else would like to either.

I have a question about the 180 thermo (might be a dumb question, just figured I'd ask anyway haha). Ok so (atleast in the winter) my car never runs over around 155°, even when temperatures are around 45-50°. So it wouldn't hurt to wait until atleast spring when temperatures warm up install one, right? Or is it sort of a necessity like the colder range plugs?

hahaha well I didnt upgrage my sig hahaa I did alot more than that, But no I know the whole supporting mods thing, and underand what oth of you are saying. I dont know about anyones 1/4 time but I know when I moddin back then when I put on the 3.4 I got alot more power from it. I just mean people on these forums like to tell others that there car will die and they better get supporting mods, all I wanted to say was when I did it I had it like that for awile and I never had a problem at all and ran it like that for a year or so. my car hasnt seen the shop since I bought it, I guess when it comes to my gtp I had some luck, and Tblake bro Im not an ass I wasnt trying to show you up bro, I swear haha. but i ran my car for probably 20,000 on that setup and never had an issue at all so for blowing up the motor I think is a bit extreme to tell people, maybe if you are a track guy and always running your car at wot, but if its a dd then I dont think it will do to much or didnt to mine at least but maybe i got lucky but there is no doubt that my car pulled alot harder than it did without the 3.4 anyways hahahah But bob I hear ya, now I got all the mods pcm, colder plugs blah blah so its strong now and stronger than before but back then I dont think I lost power at all, just might not of been to safe. And I guess I should update my sig huh? lol have a good day guys. ~joe ps, as for the 180 bro, I would just do it simply for the fact that it is soooo cheap to buy and takes maybe 15 min to install it, so I vote do the t-stat asap. thanx

I would at least replace it. If your car isnt reaching operating temp, thats killing your milage. Maybe buy a stock t-stat for the winter months and then switch to the 180 for the summer.

You know that might explain one reason why he gets such suckey gas mileage that he has been complaining about. Unless it is a gauge or ECT problem 155 degrees engine operating temperature at those temps? Too low and not good. :2cents:
