Oil pressure light question

I have a 1998 Venture. The oil pressure light comes on when I make sharp left turns and abrupt stops. It only comes on for a few seconds and then dissappears. Ocassionally I will see a quick flash of red (the pressure light) when I am driving. Do you think that this is just the oil pressure switch? Or is something about to go bad.
