Super Coupe

i am currently looking into getting a 1989 Thunderbird supercoupe 3.8 supercharged V6. I know it was motor trends 1989 car of the year, they have been compared to BMW 6 series and all that but I want the personal opinion of someone who currently owns one or who has owned one. Please let me know what your opinions are on this car.

Ive had one for about a year now! Most fun Ive ever had! Definitly get one! I have a 90 Thunderbird SuperCoupe 5 speed! Other than a spun rod bearing its been great!

if you want speed and nice toasty burnoits on take off... deffinatly get one.. just hope you dont get the one w/o the abs package... otherwise you dont want to drive n the rain :nono: :iceslolan

All of the Super Coupes have ABS.
If you get a 89 be careful the ones first made had a cast crank and they tend to snap. they switched to a forged crank after they started snapping.
The 5 spds are nice but they tend to wheel hop like crazy, the AOD's are quicker too.
The 94/95 SC's have a few more ponies because of a bigger supercharger and teflon coated rotors.

If your going to get one of these take your time and pick a nice clean one. ask about headgaskets... they are 3,8's and they blow.
there are alot around still and you can choose a nice one.
