I took my '03 Envoy ( 4.2L with the Auto Select (2WD , AWD, 4 Hi , 4Lo) to one of the quickie Lubes to get the oil changed prior to an emissions test.
I let them talk me into having them change the Rear Diff fluid and Transfer Case fluid.
I mentioned that I wanted OEM fluids used. Well I noticed afterwards on the invoice that for the Transfer Case fluid they used automatic trans fluid. I went back and had them put in the Auto-Trak II fluid as recommended in the manual. Now I noticed that for the Rear Diff they used Esso 80W90 GL5 LS . The manual states SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant.
Are 80W90 GL5 LS and SAE 75W-90 Synth interchangeable ?
