in order to get it to come apart i heard you can do a freezing trick that will do that by i think running it under water for a couple minutes and sticking it in the freezer overnight (make sure you have it in a zip lock so you dont lose the small parts!)

isn't it a lot easier to buy a new one? Or is it already a rare kit?

Have you seen one lately? :-)
These are very rare. And quite pricey too.
You can disassemble the model, then strip it, and re-do it. What glue did you use to put it together?

First of all, this is Cobra, not the regular Mustang. The Cobra kit is curbside, while Mustang kit has an engine. Second, with 5 days to go, let's watch where this auction will close at. And plus, shipping from Japan is not cheap too, take that into account.

You have it backwards, the Cobra has the "engine" (engine pieces that assemble on top of the chassis bottom w/integral engine/oil pan), the standard Mustang is curbside only. The Mustang itself is unique in that it's an export version of the car (even having separate fender flares), and features the very rare (in 1:1) removable hardtop.
Tamiya's Mustangs are less accurate than either Monogram/Revell or AMT. The Cobra has many inaccuracies (engine, chassis, interior). Though it builds up as a decent looking curbside. Tamiya Mustangs are among their worst efforts at being replicas.

There are 2 mustang kits at this shop. The mustang GT and the mustang cobra R. Is it one of those 2 you seek?

Debonder will dissolve plastic! Superglue is quite brittle, you can try to pry some parts and see if they will come off. Most stubborn parts could be put in water, then into freezer. Once they are frozen solid, you could try to break the glue joint.

Put it into warm water [Not boiling] and then put 'em on the freezer.
Once they are very cold, frozen even, you can try to pull the joints apart.
When i'm going to pull two CA glued pieces,I put a not so sharp hobby knife between the joints and start to crack it carefully until the pieces are apart.
About taking the paint off,you can try stripping your model and parts in:
Isoprophyl Alcohol 50%+ (90% is best)
DOT 3 Brake Fluid [Not 100% safe]
Castrol Super Clean [CSC],Purple power,Simple Green,or any other degreaser of that kind.
The last three mentioned above are very famous in stripping models, since they do their job well.
But be careful with all of those that I mentioned, because they are VERY dangerous to skin and smelling them may let you dizzy or even nauseous [Brake fluid does it to me! :p]
Hope it helps!

When I want to remove parts that I super glued together I dip a brush in paint thinner and brush over the parts. Once its been wet in the thinner for about 2 minutes it start to pull the pieces apart.
