Interesting. Good thing I don't smoke at all.

There are just as many studies on cannabis saying they can't find a direct link between use and cancer rates.

gee, i wonder who its funded by.

Anyway theres an easy fix. Eat it or use a vapourizer.

Similar thing with Cigars but kinda pointless seeing how weed is a therapeutic drug and you don't do it as often or much as Cigarettes.

Also not as much gets to the lungs as it's not necessary for the effect like with cigs...

...and there's a lot of "pack a day" smokers out there - I would like to see someone smoke 25 joints in a day and remain functional.

I love the weed threads.

...but to the point Oz is right. Who the hell smokes 20 J's a day? Even the heaviest smoking Jamaicans I hung out with in college only smoked 10-15 on their heaviest days. And most people don't even smoke a whole joint/blunt/ bongo by themselves

I gotta invest in a vaporizer or a hooka. The shisha shop at school was seling hookas for like $40, I shoulda bought one

That's exactly what I was thinking.

On the other hand, if the study is legit, then you would only need to smoke one or two joints to have the impact of a pack-a-day smoker.

Obviously there wouldn't be as much harmful crap in a joint then that of a ciggarette, but the article focus's on carcinogen levels and CO2 absorbtion rates which affect the lungs and can cause lung cancer.

I know a girl who once unknowingly consumed like 3 hash brownies and then couldn't figure out why she was so damn hungry a half hour later. So she kept eating more brownies until someone stopped her and asked why she was eating up all their damn weed. The worst part is she's not even a smoker so she didn't even appreciate it :disappoin

speaking of brownies, exactly a week ago i got ripped out of my skull on brownies. i don't smoke often (my last time was in the summer) and i had 4 brownies (.5g each) and two bowls. i was so gone it wasn't even funny.

anyways, until i see more studies about this i won't pay a whole lot of attention to it. these days everything seems to cause cancer and then a few years later they don't anymore so i'll wait this out. also, as mentioned above, just get a vap. they get you more high too apparently (releases more thc per gram than a joint or a bong). you can use a bong, which will filter out alot of the soot and some particulates but there are still alot of carcinogens in the smoke that comes out. i don't think a hooka will be any better, you're burning a coal on top of the weed so it could be worse than a bong, i don't know.

heh, the roommate has one, and its pretty sweet. i gave up smoking though, i hate just sitting around doing nothing and just saying im so high....

but the whole weed and coal into the hooka, doesnt work that well. you need a lot of weed to make it worth while.

if this is the case though, i think my cuz/roomate would be dead. he can go through at least a couple joints a day, everyday. and the whole trip to jamaica, is for the weed and the parties. just not during the school year though.

I think the allure of the hooka is all due to this guy

I don't believe that. I know some people in their late 50s to early 60s who have been smoking several joints a day (or more) since the 1970s who have no cough or other respiratory problems. I remember reading a while back about how some chemical in weed actually reduces cancer.

I wish they'd do a study about how smoking from a pipe or bong compares (or even rolling a filter in one end of a J), because seriously, who smokes joints regularly except for high schoolers between classes?

Well, I guess electric brownies could cause gastric issues, but they won't harm respiration, LOL.

Not to mention, the lack of tell-tale "odor" or other ancillary paraphernalia observable issues.

Its amazing how you can NEVER tell you reek until somebody points it out to you. Me and my friend blew on the way to Cloverfield a couple weeks ago and stopped at BW3s to cure our munchies. Once we sat down our waitress walked up and said "Welcome to Buffalo Wild Wings. My name is Candace, I'll be your server today and you guys reek of weed"

We were thrown off and slightly embarassed, but we said effit, eating was far too important at that point.

I've never heard of anyone who smoked only pot and got lung cancer as a result of it.
