Charging system?

Ive been having some issues with my charging system lately, I have a 95 TA with a cs144 140A alt. The problem is, the voltage is very inconsistent. every single light in the car bounces with the gauge. No DTC or other service MIL illum. I do have a subwoofer system, but the problems occur even with everything off. After having the alternator checked, everything is at spec.
Have an idea, but I'm not to sure, possible the voltage regulator is getting a jazzed signal. It uses only the L connection of most AC delco alternators. If I were to connect that wire to the battery would that solve the problem if it is a bad connection from the alt to the source?

Any help would be greatly apprechiated.

THANKS

Also,
Grounds, belt, and connections are known to be good or working.

I know you can, I took mine apart the other day....

hmmm....

The exact year eludes me at the moment, but voltage regulation became a function of the PCM. :dunno: You mention only one terminal connection on it wich further backs this up, A traditional alternator will have a 2 wire connection at the regulator and a one wire on the other side for the gauge/light. If all you have is a 2 wire then the PCM is in charge and the alterntor (diodes or feild) is at fault.

You could always have it tested to be sure. Best way would be a incar load test.
