2002 Blazer door latch removal

I need to remove the driver side door latch to diagnose a locking problem, but can't seem to get it out. Looks like the window track is in the way. I was able to remove the rod links from the inside door handle but not the one from the outside handle. It is to far back to reach.
How do you remove it?
