Coolant Leak

Hello,
I have a ’96 Blazer LS 4x4.
Today on the way to work I noticed that there was no heat. No matter what setting the temperature was, it just blew cold.
In doing a little checking under the hood, I have realized that I have a coolant leak. I can’t seem to pinpoint where the leak is coming from though… It appears to be from somewhere close to the water pump. When I put water into the radiator in fills up to a certain level and then just starts to leak out from what looks like to be the back (and passenger side) of the water pump.
I have read that there is some sort of weep hole on this unit, but I can’t see it. Where is it?
Does this sound like something that replacing the water pump would fix? What else could be leaking coolant in that area if it’s not the water pump?
Thanks

While it could very well be the water pump, you have to take a good look at that area. The weep holes on the pumps are mid way on the pump, usually have holes on the top and the bottom, but I have seen this is not always the case. There is at least one hole though.
Other things such as intake gaskets, coolant return hoses can be a source of a leak. On these engines, intake gaskets are common and must be changed as soon a leak is suspected, as intake gasket leaks can cause eninge damage.
take a close look and follow the leak and see where its coming from.
