Hello All once again ,everytime i go thru a speedbump sounds like metal scrubbing against each other and is loud and i really dont like that, i tho it was the front shocks that were never change before and i puted sensa-trac 5960 and the car rides like never before but i just hate that damm noise and when i took it to the shop where they replace the shocks they checked for any cracks and they said everything is fine :runaround: am very picky about noises in my car and i was thinking of maybe changing the front springs? anybody have similar problem?

Hello
I think I know the noise that you speak of. My 96 Crown Vic makes a squeaking metal to metal noise and my 91 Town Car will sometimnes make it. The cars will only make the noise while turning. What I think is happening is that the springs are rubbing inside the spring pocket. There is a rubber cushion in there, and I think it has rubbed through. Try hoseing the top and bottom of the springs down with some WD 40. See if the noise go away, that should help isolate the problem. I'm also pickey about noises like that. My Vic is a project car that I'm rebuilding, I'll just add another thing to the fix list. My TC is an old project turned test car for my parts business.

Hey guys, my 97 TC sometimes makes that sound (more so when turning). Mine is not that loud, infact you cant even hear it when the air and the radio are on but that does make sense what you said about the springs.
