Where is the 'computer' on a '95 Taurus

Is the ECA (Electronic Control Assembly) the metal box behind the glove box on a '95 Taurus SE.
Is this the same 'computer' that people call the ECM (Engine Control Unit) and PMC (Powertrain Control Module)??

I'm not sure what you're referring to as a Electronic Control Assembly. The ECM and PCM are one in the same and it is mounted above and behind the glove compartment. However, the "ECA" you refer to could be the Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM) or the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module, etc.

What is it you are trying to fix that requires you to find the "ECA?"

The Haynes manual states that ‘The Electronic Engine Control (EEC-IV) system consist of an onboard computer, known as the ECA (Electronic Control Assembly), and information sensors which relay data to the ECA’
It also states the ECA is located behind the glove box.

The reason I am looking at it is I am having an intermittent ‘no start’ on my ’95 Taurus SE. When the engine won’t start, I can here the radiator fan and the fuel pump running constantly with the ignition switch in the ‘run’ position. If the fan and pump go off, the car will start. It seems to start when the temperature is above 65 degrees. But this might be a coincidence. The following forum member had the same problem with his ’97 and tracked it down to a bad PCM that was going bad in cold weather. I want to see if warming up the PCM on a cold day will allow the car to start.
