I wasn't really sure where to post this at so i geussed this was my best bet. I purchased a 1990 rx7 i got to do a engine swap in because the rotary was dead. I have been looking at grannyspeedshop and there kits. Problem is I don't know what engine to go with, I figure one of these motors because i have found all for a reasonable price....Lt1,2.3 turbo ford,VG30DE, and a 4.3 vortec chevy. My first pick was the Lt1 that i was also thinking/dreaming to turbo boost which would give me plenty of power but the Lt1 sound doesn't seem to fit with a rx7 in my mind which is giving me second thoughts. So please help me out by giving me your ideas and any info you have relating to this.
Thank you:)
Thank you:)

it's ultimately up to you. The VG30DE is a good dependable engine, but you won't beat the performance of an LT1 (unless you go with another 13B.)
Personally, I'd go either with another 13B or the LT1.

if you can find an lt1 cheap I would go with that no question (well, unless you can find an LSx cheap, that would be ideal). alternatively ford 302 have tons of aftermarket and if my research is correct(hard finding exact numbers, dressed vs. bare, wet vs. dry, with tranny on or not) are a bit lighter than lt1. And you can find them really easy. 351w would be another decent option, but I believe they are taller than the 302 so you would likely need some sort of custom hood which could hurt a sleeper look if that is what you are going for.
