RIP car

Sad to say I will no longer be a part of the DSM world. Here's my car before it ate it.

Ok. 100 miles after the rebuild the 'new' crank I had ordered and sent out to be cryo-treated walked. I was driving down the road and it blew a fire ball out the back (big enough to see the flash in the mirrors). I looked at the log on DSMLink and the CAS got knocked out as I was accelerating. I took it apart and the thrust bearing was trashed. I intended to rebuild it or do something crazy (like a 4 link rwd with the ka from my240 or something else ridiculous) but I got hit with a bunch of medical bills so that pretty much flushed that down the drain. Ahh the dreams of the incredibly stupid...
Thus, I decided to get rid of it. And since the body was in really good shape me and my brother decided to swap everything from his trash-ride GSX into the better body. But that's going to be when it's warmer because I'm to much of a Nancy boy to do shit in the winter. When (if?) we do it I'm gonna document the whole thing with pictures in case anyone wants to do something this stupid.

Sorry I didn't get any pictures. I might have the thrust bearing still because it was quite the site to see. If I run across it I'll get some pictures. It was razor sharp on the clutch side. I've been throwing all my extra money (besides the money the dentist gets) at my 240 and my brother who used to post a lot has been down at SIU so I haven't been near the boards in a while. Hopefully we will be more active on the board as we start working on DSMs again.

Yeah I think EZ will post more once he is able to work on his car again. As for MexRocket... I don't know what he's doin with his right now. He got a built engine and everything but won't work on it unless EZ is holding his hand (yeah I mean like that).
As for the 240, it's a '93 coupe with an SR20, front mount, GT2871 bb turbo with .86 turbine, clutch, flywheel, z32MAF, dsm(surprise) 880cc injectors , carbon fiber fender flares 16X8 0 offset rims, probably some more stuff I'm forgetting. Boost is at 12psi right now until it's actually warm enough to get traction then it's up to 18psi.

The suspension is f-d right now (the right side is an inch higher than the left) but I have replacements for it. I actually took this picture for a before and after of the suspension. But I don't have the after yet. What I really need now is a dif. And to clean the salt off of the car. Winter can suck my ass.
