The car will start sputtering like it is not getting enough air. The tachometer will jump up as well. We had it looked at, it received a complete service, oil, air filter, transmission fluid etc. Rode well for a day or so and it started again. Any suggestions. Also, we have a new sympton... the overdrive light has started to flash on and off. Not necessarily while it starts the sputtering....

Does it only do this while cold. Or does it do it all the time. More info would help. But it sounds like a vacuum leak or the Idle Air control valve.

Thanks for the info. Yes, it does it while first driving. It did not matter what speed we were driving at either. We had already started letting it "warm up" before leaving in the mornings. It seemed to help somewhat but not enitrely.
