Waterpump

Well the noise is definately coming from my waterpump...or so says my mechanic. A pretty pricey fix. I am definately no mechanic but know several people who are pretty darn good with fixing cars. My questions is...is replacing the waterpump an extremely difficult job in an 03 Trailblazer Ext? I got a price on the pump itself and it is only 41 bucks. That is the cost my sisters boss gets it for. SOmeone????

What did the mechanic want for the job parts and labor?
Was he pricing a new or rebuilt water pump?

It was 400 bucks for parts and labor. I saw that he was charging 140 for the part itself and I know they of course pump up that price. He said it was about 3.2 hours worth of work.

Is there anything else we should change while in there? Fan clutch was just done 3 days ago. MAybe the timing belt? It only has 93k miles on it.

Tirwin88, did you have the waterpump fixed yet? Did it fix the ticking noise?
