Greetings all. I have a 93 wagon that blew the front seal. In the debate whether to repair, I wondered if it is feesable to swap to a standard tranny. Any thoughts appreciated.

It's possible, but not feasable. You would have to find a manual transaxle Escort to make the switch. You will need to.....There's about 10 major items you would have to change over. shifter, console, clutch pedal, shifter rod, brake and clutch reservoir, axles, PCM, speed sensor, maybe the flywheel or existing one put a pilot shaft bushing in and find a pressure plate. There may be a problem with tranny mounts and exhaust mounts. Yeah. It's possible.

Possible, but.........Thanks. it could use cv joints anyway, but the rest...
If I don't get any more gumption to fix the thing, it will be for sale for parts or some one else to play with.
