Ram Pickup Problem --- Need HELP!

Okay here is the deal. I have an older Dodge pickup. It starts fine. It idles fine. When I get it in gear if I don't touch the throttle it moves fine. As soon as I get onto the throttle, it seems to choke out. It doesn't stop running, it just doesn't seem to go. The truck begins to shake. If I back off the throttle and let it pick up speed down a hill, it will upshift to another gear. I can be on the throttle very softly and gain speed, but if I use a normal pressure it seems to hurt any chance of gaining speed.

What does everyone think?

Fuel filter?
Fuel pump?
Carborator?

Help...I don't want to spend a lot and if I can fix this myself it would be much better for me.

what year is your turck?
dose it have a catalitic convertor?
have you tried reving the engine with it in neutral?
if it dose have a cat, and won't rev very much in neutral, I'd suspect that the convertor is plugged.

It is a 1993. I ran some carborator cleaner, the spray in type right into the carborator, and it seems to be running better. I guess now I just need to get the "Check Engine" light reset to be sure I have it fixed.

Is there a way to do this without going to a shop?

I'm not sure about the 93's, but on the 94 and up dodges, you can reset the computer by disconnecting the negative betery cable for a few minutes.

also, you might wat to consider having the codes checked to see what caused the check engine light to come on in the first place. autozone will usuailly scan the codes for free, or you could take it to a dealer.
