This sucks (long)

okay so i go out to my car this morning to go and put gas in it so i turn the key and wait for the check engine light to go off so it does and the i start the car and wiat for the oil light to go off it does but it takes longer than it usualy(sp) does so i pop the hood and check the oil and what do i see not a DAMN DROP OF OIL IS IN THEIR SO IM LIKE HOLY SHIT.

So thats why my car studders when i put it to the floor god knows how long theres been no oil.So i went out and got some oil put it in and drove it now when i floor it it fine.

So what can cuse the oil to disappear my dumb stepdad says i need a rebuild but i did notice some oil aroud the oil pan??????

Hes right:) Yeh also check the oil pan maybe u need to change it.

Your lucky that you didn't cause a lot more damage

Oil pan gasket and hope that you didn't ruin a rod bearing.

Could be burning oil too, better start checking it every couple days now or you'll burn it up....either way it sounds like time to rebuild the motor...

Yo Dude...I burn about a quart every 1200 miles...it is a good habit to check it EVERY time you fill up the tank...it will burn more when you ride it harder too... Look out the rear window when you are up there in the 5 - 6K range...do you see black smoke? It is easier to see at night, when there are peeps behind u with lights on...if you do, that is probably blow-by smoke, indicating worn out rings (burning oil in the combustion chamber)
if you see blue smoke at start up (cold engine) that indicates worn out valve seals..the oil leaks down the valves from the head when the car isn't running...they sit on top of the piston and burn when the car starts up. It is possible to have either of both conditions...blow-by will use oil more quickly..

My GF's car has an oil leak that leaves a 2" diameter puddle overnight, and it still took over 6 months to leak 1 quart of tranny fluid, so unless you see a big-ass puddle under your most common parking area, the leaking around the pan (which is common) is probably not the primary loss of oil.

My car has 208K miles on it and I noticed it burning oil about 175K...I decided to buy a ZC and rebuild it instead of rebuilding the d15b2...I just need to find good weather and/or a garage now to swap that bad boy in...

Sorry my reply was so long..but buying oil at $1 per quart is a lot cheaper than a rebuilt or swapped motor...I would recommend that you start saving some $$ and swap in something else when you are ready.. for now..keep driving it and check the oil often. ;)

Check your oil pan bolts, I tightened mine the other day, most of them I could have taken out by hand.

Hehe, my old 73MG had a blown headgasket, I had to add a quart once a week. :hehe: good times I had in that thing though.

LOL - my '85 Civic was pretty bad..Every time I filled up the gas tank, I had to put in a quart of oil...I just bought the cheap stuff by the case :D - I had massive worn seals on that (I used to smoke out the neighborhood in the AM) and had blow-by issues too. I ended up trading that car in on this one, and the dealer "gave" me $300 for it...Honestly, I doubt I could have sold it for that much..it had other issues too ;)

As Sastanley said u need to watch out for burnin oil and u don't wanna throw a bearing like i did in my accord. Just watch your oil from now on and then decide what u wanna do.

We just did an engine swap today at work on an accord that threw two rods. Two holes on the front of the block, cyl #2&3 and one out the back of cyl #2.:eek2:
