Kenwood

What do you all think about Kenwood decks? I bought a Kenwood KDC-MP435U back in April at Best Buy. It has the detachable face plate, 4 x 50w, remote, i-pod and SAT compatible, as well as a USB port on the front(the main reason i was drawn to it). Until it fried on me this month, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I love the USB feature, much more convenient than any CD. Anyways, It fried this month, and it still has the 1 year manuf. warranty. That was a chore considering I had lost my receipt for some reason, and when I went to Best Buy to get a re-print, they suddenly couldn't do it on purchases with checks, even though they advertised that they could. After arguing with the asshole at the counter for half an hour who claimed that they never sold one that day(I gave him the exact date, approximate time, the exact total, check number, and checking account number, as well as my name and the number i gave them when i signed up for the blue rewards thing), I walked out of there with my receipt, and got it mailed off to the address in Salt Lake City that Kenwood told me to send it to. It's been a few weeks now and I'm hoping to get it back soon, as long drives are now obnoxious without any music. I am actually thinking of going to Wal-mart and buying the cheapest CD player they have and throwing it in there until my stereo gets here(if it ever does). Then when my stereo gets back, i'll take the el cheapo out and put in my Kenwood, then put the cheapo back in when i sell the car, and put the Kenwood in my next.

This was the most expensive Kenwood deck at Best Buy, except for the DVD player, and it cost me about $180.00 after tax. LOL, about 2 months after I bought it, they lowered it to $130ish.

Well, got off the phone with Kenwood today, they've had my stereo sitting around for a week or so, already finished, they just haven't cared to ship it out yet. They say they'll send it no later than Friday. Seeing as it's in SLC and i'm in southern utah, that would put it here Monday or Tuesday most likely. These people are such a bitch to deal with. I will NEVER buy another kenwood product as long as i live.

Well, it arrived today. The repair sheet said that they basically dusted the outside. DUSTED IT. I WAITED ONE MONTH FOR THEM TO FUCKING DUST IT, AND OF COURSE, THAT DIDNT FIX A FUCKING THING, IT STILL DOESNT FUCKING WORK. I call them up and ask them what the fuck is wrong with them, and apparently, they don't speak any fucking english, and now I'm pretty sure they won't do anything to help me. I really really feel the temptation to drive up there and shove it up their fucking illegal immigrant asses.

Sorry to hear about your luck man. I'm no audio buff, so I buy the cheap stuff from walmart. Sportin a Sony Xplod that's worked flawless for almost 3 years now. If I had to recommend any stereo for the average user, I would highly recommend Sony's Xplod series. I'm going to be looking for an upgrade soon, only because they're new line of Xplod's have the USB feature which I could really get used to.

I've heard bad things about kenwood. Don't buy dual either they also suck. Thats what deck I have in my camaro, it looks sweet and sounds pretty good, but its a POS. Half the time it won't let me get my CDs out. I'm waiting for my tax return and im thinking about putting a JVC HD unit in.

Got a UPS tracking number from Kenwood. The stereo is going to arrive TONIGHT. This time it had DAMN well better work, or I will kill somebody.

My kenwood setup works fine... except for some reason when i push to hard on the button the digital display goes dark momentarily.... its a little old though.
