Hello!
As far as I understand, the monocoque of a Formula 1 car may NOT be part of the bodywork of the car.
IE a Formula 1 car, first has the monocoque, and on top of that, has the bodywork.
Is this correct ?

The reason that I ask, is because the Tamiya Full view kits, do not contain any separate monocoque, only the bodywork.
Is this an error ?

The monococque is part of the bodywork nowadays. They just paint over or apply vinyl over the bare carbon fiber, then secure the body work around it, such as the rear cowling, sidepods, nosecone, etc. The Tamiya full view kits do contain a monococque, which is essentially the body without the sidepods, nosecone, and rear cowling. It also contains the cockpit, seat, etc.

Ah, I see. So the monocoque is part of the bodywork.

The reason that I ask was that I, having the kit, had thought about painting the monocoque, and leaving everything else transparent.
However, just now I see that I cant do that (The bottom and side pods are not transparent..)
So I guess, ill build the kit as par instructions, with the exception of covering all the non transparent parts with carbon fiber decals, leaving the car "unpainted"
