I have an 2002 GT 3.8 with 61k on the engine. When I am accelerating getting on the interstate lately my car will hit 4000 RPMs and then it will not shift until I let up on the pedal. Does anybody have any idea of what could be wrong.

When was the last tuneup...plugs and/or wires, fuel filter? Is the SES/CEL light on or blinking? Also, due to your year you might consider getting the CAT Convertor checked out at the dealer.
We have an advisory on defective CAT convertors applicable to 2001-2002 Grand Prixs at our Tips & Maintenance forum. GM extended the warranty to 10 years/120K miles, whichever comes first. Also, the basic warranty on a CAT is 8 years/80K miles so it should be covered based on your mileage.

I did AC Delco plugs and wires at 50k and fuel filter I just changed in December. I do not have any lights on or blinking. I will go get the CAT checked and see if that is a problem.
