My son just bought a 2003 sorento EX, automatic. There is a button on dash that says snow. when you turn it on a light lights on the inst.cluster that says SNOW. How does this affect the driving ability of this truck? Is this truck "all wheel drive", "two wheel drive" or what?

This snow option has something to do "Torque on demand" with the transfer case. Ive read a few things on this and don't completly understand it myself.

The Sorentos with the "snow" knob are 2 wheel drive, not 4x4. With the snow knob activated, the transmission starts out in second gear and skips first altogether. Less torgue to avoid the rear end sliding out when starting to move.
