misfire upon startup

Hey guys, drivn 97 prix gt with 135 k. Upon startup, it sounds as if the engine is having a misfire for about 30 seconds then its gone. Ive had bum plugs,wires,and coils so i know thats what i'm hearing. I notice it on the more colder days, also it doesn't happen all the time. About 2 mo. ago i left my car running for abou 15 mins behind the shop i work at, come out the the ses light was on. Took it home plugged her in and it said "random misfire". Thinking there's a connection. Not a serious problem right now but would appreciate some feedback.

swapped out all ignition coils with not new ones but ones in better shape than what i had

There are a couple of possible causes here. First, it is possible that the new wires are bad. I put a set on once and all I got was misfires. Put the old ones back on and the misfires went away instantly. Second, make sure the plugs are gapped properly as this can cause issues. Finally, you may have an injector issues but I doubt it due to the fact that the misfires are random. Try a new fuel filter if you haven't changed it and clean the MAF sensor with electronics cleaner. This may help. If not try another brand of plug wires and see what happens.

Try replacing the spark plugs,spark plug wires,ignition coils and ignition module and try the IAC and put injector cleaner in the gas tank. If still getting the random misfire check the wires that go to the ignition control module. Then check all electric wires and fuel rail and fuel filter. If problem persisest then consult back to here. Im having random misfires and if u read my threads Ive posted. I still havent fixed my problem but have replaced and done things to make sure I wasnt missing something. Last thing I have left to replace is the PCM. But if you find the problem let me know. Maybe we can help each other out.

Start by unplugging the MAF to test it. If the car runs better with the MAF disconnected (after a short adjustment period for the PCM), then the MAF is bad. Next, check fuel pressure at the rail with a guage, it should read 48-55psi, key on engine off, and drop 3-7 psi with the car started at idle.

You didn't mention what brand plugs/wires you installed, but if they're Bosch, that's probably your issue.
