If you have SERVICE VEHICLE SOON, ABS, TRAC OFF lights all on at the same time after driven a short while, reprogramming the power control module (with updated software calibration) may be able to make them go way.

Mine was fixed for free at a dealer under a recall campaign. GM called me yesterday and told me the recall and asked me to take my car to a dealer to have it done.

Yeah, more info please. When you say GM called you, do you mean your local dealer or someone from a GM office? I have a 2002 with same lights.
Thanks

Need update on this please, GM wants to charge me $95 just to scan the thing. This is after I told them I just had both front wheel assemblies replaced. I am willing to trash this car soon, gas mileage is godawful. barely 380km of mostly highway on a 40L fill. This is outrageous. I will pedal a bicycle this summer to work to compensate my principles on the matter.

I will check my ABS hub wires this spring, and give this car away. I had better times with my '89 Jetta. No more new American cars for me, thanks.

Last I checked the Pontiac Grand Ams have the same issues as Aleros. They both came out of the same GM plant at Lansing, MI until the Olds was discontinued.

Huh! Thats because you got everyone started JC with the Dex-cool issue which is starting to get nauseating considering it is widespread on AF now.

Also, because we are too nice letting members blow steam about their cars. In this particular case the Alero. However, when it infringes upon violating AF Community Guidelines like flaming whether it be a person or a make, model of vehicle then it is time to put the foot down and take action.

Any further and random babble about how much you hate your Alero without cause or derailing a thread may result in a vacation from AF. So everyones' cooperation is appreciated.

I am having the same problem with my 2002 Alero. After driving for a little while, all three lights come on. Please tell us what the recall number is so that we can get it fixed.

Welcome to AF une.

Its not realy a "recall" more like a software update that some N bodies require.

You should get it scanned though with an ABS capable scan tool to find out what the problem is, that is causing your lights to come on..
