Hello everyone,
I have an issue here. I have a 91 buick Regal Gran Sport 3800 3.8L V6 Vin "L" 77K miles. My headlights have not been working since I purchased the vehicle I have changed the dimmer switch, bulbs, and even the dash control for the lights. But my highbeams have been fine..until recently. I noticed one night after work that they would not turn on. Then after my vacation i came back home and viola they were working again. They intermittenly work on and off, one night I was rushing home with my hazards on and no lights, when I drove over a hump in the road and the car sort of bounced, and the highbeams kicked back on. i am guessing it is electrical that may be loose, any suggestions or advice before I get my mechanic to charge me up the wahoo to fix this situation?

By your symptoms, it sounds like your dimmer switch is either bad or out of adjustment. It is mounted to the steering column and hooks to the turn signal stalk via a relay rod. If you stick your head under the column and have someone else pull on the lever, you'll see the rod moving. Follow it to the switch and loosen the two screws that secure it. Slide the switch toward the steering wheel to tighten up the adjustment and try it.

thanks, i tried it and it is the dimmer switch. I bought an off brand from autozone, so i think that may be the issue. The wires in the back of the switch are off a little... I play with them and adjust them and the lights turn on. Thinking of replacing the part for the second time :( But for right now i will play with thw wires until i get fed up.
