This thread is to discuss making an AF calendar.
Like I said, I would be more than happy to donate my time and any advice as I've gathered a lot while making the TM calendar.
1. Do you guys want an aspect ratio of 3:4 or 16:9?
2. What year, start at 2009?
3. How do we decide who gets in? Submissions, and then vote?
Discuss.....

Submissions then vote
Start at '09 (need to wait for all this shit winter weather to clear for me to get my car all shiny and the wheels on)
No clue on aspect ratio

Yeah, I'd agree we should submit and then post. I'd also like to wait for 2009. That means I could get the new stuff on the cars and take some good pictures. I'd vote for 16:9. It would cost a few dollars more but the difference is worth the price to me.

16:9 Better format and in the long run will allow you to feature the car more. 2009 is great and we should do submissions and have the picture put before a panel consisting of a few people. I'd like to be on it! =) But people more like Damien from the photo threads in off-topic. He would be a good person to have on it. Think about it. Hundreds of submission, lots of voting. It would take forever. Just a few key people to make the process simple and easy as possible. I would definently submit some pics. But would never be able to get in. I've seen some of the pictures floating around here and there is just no room for my Maxima. But I'm still going to try!

I'll be putting up a picture of my Speed3 here for it. Though I doubt it would make it in, lol. Exterior wise, I'm thinking a set of FD wheels, and maybe one or two minor accent pieces. [/hijack]
We need to lay some ground rules out for the pictures, though. We need to figure out what can and can't fly, quality (no camera phones), shit like that. All though I do vote that we should allow people in the pictures. My car is going to look pretty plain, so I need to get a few of my more attractive lady friends in bikinis to post up with it to set it apart, lol.

I just don't like people in the pics. If I want ladies I'll get a Hooters calendar. :p
However, like I said in the other thread, the minimum should be a 5mp camera and it's highest resolution. If anyone needs tips just ask.

I could try putting in a few pics of my 3000GT assuming I still have it. I just got a 8.1MP EXILIM for Christmas and I know a buddy of mine who is a photographer so maybe I can work something out.

We could a midyear calander from june 2008-december 2009.
Also I think it would be cool to have group pics in there too, like if people live near eachother they could get theri cars together and take a group shot.

Well, it looks as though this place is just dead lately or nobody really wants one.

I think an AF calendar would be great. I agree with Gotian - a few group shots would be great if some of the poeple in areas close to each other wanted to get together. Not sure if my Nissan would make it but still, it would be nice to have a calendar of some of the really nice rides on AF, if people are up to the task that is. Could take some hours to get it judged and together.

Definitely wait until 2009. Or I could take a picture of my dad's kickass Buick Regal I've been rolling in recently.

I still would love to make one, I just need more people that would buy it. Hell, we don't even have enough votes to fill the calendar as I would need 13 good shots to use.
Making the calendar is no problem for me. It wouldn't take me long to get the photos taken care of and the calendar done. I don't mind doing it, I just need good shots.

I have a few good shots of my car, I'm just waiting till I get some new wheels to really make it stand out. I hate the stock wheels of the car, but whenever I save up some mod money, it comes down to power or looks, and so far I've always gone power. What I want to do is pick up a set of RX8 wheels, and have them powder coated a dark gunmetal, then I'll be good for pics.

Before anyone sends me pictures we need to decide a size for the calendar. We can do 11"x7.5" (4:3) or 17"x11" (16x:9). The larger calendar format is about four dollars more than the smaller one but i think its worth it. We just need to decide on a size before I post the guidelines.

bigger one also cassie, check out the rx-8 forums they sell the stock rims all the time for pretty cheap.

I think the bigger one would be better, but like you said, it depends on interest. If we can't even get enough people to submit pics, how are you going to be able to sell it?

Yeah, I lurk around over there. I'm registered as TotallyNotAmused. I'm just waiting for some to show up locally so I don't need to pay shipping on damned 80 pounds of big ass wheels.

lol alot of times they include the shipping cause they just want to get rid of them, personally I love the stock rims though I would love to get them painted a bronze color

I've had two guys pick em up locally for under $400. I dunno if I'd poweder coat them or not, I might. I especially need one after bending the shit out of one of my wheels to the point where it isn't fixable. Its asking for a minimum of 15 pounds to ballance out, bend is in the barell. Still holding air at least...ugh. I hate SUV drivers.

Im with you on the SUV's, SUV's were the causes of 2 dents on the RX-8 one on each side from them swinging their doors wide open after parking really close to me. It was also the cause of scraped paint on my rear bumper because a guy thought he had more room to go to park. Each time the person left before I could catch them.
