About polishing...

Yes, I know there's a FAQ section on this, and I've read it.
Question is, from first hand experience, how hard is it to get a good shine out of a body?
I've got a few kits with a lot of decals, and would like them to look a little better. I've never polished a kit, but I have sprayed Tamiya clear coat on a few.
I don't have an airbrush. I've bought a bottle of Future floor wax, and heard that you can thin it with water (distilled?) and apply with a sponge (several coats), then polish.
However, since I have quite a few decals, I was thinking of spraying a layer of Tamiya clear between the decals and the first Future coat. Is this a good idea?
Also, this is a retrospect idea, so I'll be clearcoating windows and clears as well
The kit in question (first up, anyway) is the Tamiya Mobil 1 NSX, with all decals and detail painting completed. I also have an old NASCAR camaro that I may use as an experimental piece.

Spraying clearcoat onto clear plastic is usually a bad idea, as it will probably ruin the clear part. But using Future on clear plastic works fine.

Probably best to leave your built, decaled models as they are, move on to your next build and practice polishing.:)

How do you normally polish in the areas that are unrubbable? Corners, etc?

Ah, you asked a good question! The real trick is to get your painting technique honed to a level that you have minimal orange peel in those areas. This is most easily accomplished by painting with Tamiya TS paints because they go down so smooth. However, if you do and up with that type of situation, as we all do from time to time, then you just have to get creative like bending the sand paper or polishing cloth around an object that will reach that area etc. No easy answer there, but once you get the paint level you can usually polish it on out with polishing compound and a Q-tip.:)

It's a floor wax. I think it's acrylic based.
In your country it's probably called KLEAR floor wax.
