It just died!

My 96 Park Ave with the super charger died at a stoplight today and refusd to restart.:frown:
I get lots of juice from the battery, and it turns over just fine, but will not start.
I have heard you all talk about getting "codes" flashing on the dash, but I can't understand what to look for. Can some advice in this area?

Could it be a problem with the ignition module? If so, what are the symptoms, and how involved is the replacement?

Check for spark & fuel first! This could also be the crank sensor (CKPS)

Are the cam sensor and the crank sensor the same thing?

Are the cam sensor and the crank sensor the same thing? No, they are two separate sensors. The crank sensor is located behind (right side) of the harmonic balancer. The cam sensor is located in the center/left of the timing chain cover. BTW, this engine will start & run with a bad cam sensor!
Pic below, shows sensor locations: This is for the S/C engine, however the cam and crank sensors are in the same location on the N/A engine.

You have a cam & crank sensor. Cam sensor shouldn't prevent starting but a bad crank sensor will. For 'no-starts' I always recommend checking three things.
1 - spark at each of the three front cylinders
2 - fuel pressure at the rail
3 - fuel injector pulse

Thanks for all the adivice. I have a Haynes Manual for the vehicle, but it just doesn't seem to have the info I need.
So I will locate the Harmonic Balancer to find the Crank Sensor. Can this sensor be tested, or should I just plan on replacing it? Do you recommend any special tools or tips?
As a side note, I noticed a strange loud rumbling sound coming from the rear right side (under the trunk area) after attempting a start. Is it possible that I have a faulty Fuel Pump? Would it just stop and never restart if the pump went bad?
I also had a local quick lube shop perform an oil change for me last weekend. The weather in Seattle sucks this time of year and I couldn't bring myself to lay in the rain to do an oil change.:disappoin
Is it possible that they may have accidentally damaged this sensor?

Before changing any parts you need to narrow this down to a spark or fuel problem.

The answer to your first question is yes! Check fuel pressure. :uhoh:
The answer to your second question is; possible, but not likely! :shakehead
