I'm rebuilding a '63 ford cortina MK1 deluxe for someone else.
It has been build very bad and sprayed even worse.

Here some pics how it was.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/corvette%20duo/voorrestauratie3.jpg

I started with taking the model apart as far as i could.
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/corvette%20duo/P1150026.jpg

After it was apart i gave the upper bodyparts a bath in ovencleaner to remove the old paint and sanded it light.

On the frontfenders is added some putty and the same has to be done on the rear.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/corvette%20duo/body2.jpg

When it's finished it shoul almost look like this one.
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/corvette%20duo/Ford20Cortina20Super20Deluxe2019632.jpg

The problem is, i can't find any good picture of the seats and doorpanels.
I have some ideas, but it has to be correct ( 'cause it's not mine ).

The hood has got it's first round of blue.

rearlights are painted.

The last thing done is painting the bumpers black for the chrometrim.

A small update on the cortina.

The body is sprayed blue and almost finished.
The most of the interior is painted the right color.

Now i'm thinking how to make some doorpanels for the backdoors.

The dash had his first color also ( the speedo will be made of an print picture )

The biggest problem where the wheels.
They where all chrome and dit not have any detail, so i made this of it.

At last a small dryfit of the most parts.

I hope to finish this one before 13 April so i can take it to a modelshow in Belgium.

Looking promising.

I like the colour. Very retro.
Did you use an airbrush for the body colour ?
If so, why didn't you use it on the interior ? Body looks very clean, but especially the doorpanels and the frontseats might have been a bit neater (not that I might do it any better though)...
But you probably won't see anything of it, once the car is put together.

Looking forward to the next update !

I was thinking the same thing with the body looking so good. But anyway, very good looking little car and great subject. What is that metal thing in the trunk space, was it for a motor or battery? I would love one of these on my shelves.

This is very cool. What's the kit made of? It looks like metal. And what did that decal say in the rear window? "Running in, please pass?" This is a very cool model, I don't think I've seen one before. Keep up with the updates, please!

The doorpanels and the frontseats are not finished yet, they were painted with a nr 2 brush and need some finishing touch.

Willimo: the model is a plastic motorised modelkit. Original from Frog, but thisone is a later russian remake.
I didn't know there was a bigscale cortina either, they are very rare.

The doorpanels i use are also from a rare model, A Honda S800:rolleyes: 1:12 scale.
That one will be a next rebuild project of a one of a kind S 800 coupe.

Today, A bad day. The bodydamage from the old paint came trhough the new paint:crying: .
I'm going to get it better by sanding it with waterproof 8000 and 12000 sandingpaper.

The good things are the dash and interior.
The dash is almost finished, a few details left.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/corvette%20duo/P3080094.jpg
The speedo is made of an original picture and glued on the dash, so this is the real speedo:grinyes: .

The rearseat and tha tunnel is glued to the chassis, so the chassis can be painted in the right color.

The wheels are lose to be painted in the finishing detail.

The lower part of the body was sanded and sprayed again last weekend and dry now.
So i couldn't let it down to fit all parts together.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/corvette%20duo/P3110104.jpg

Now i can start polishing the body and find a way to fit the bodyparts propperly.
Finishing wil be the detail painting.

I have 4 weeks left to do it.
